I thoroughly enjoyed being a member of this executive program. Ann and Erin both were great coaches for our group. Ann's individual sessions has really helped me build confidence in myself and my team. I feel I am better prepared to lead my organization as well as take advantage of any future opportunities that may be presented to me. I initially was connected with Intentional Coaching + Consulting as a part of a Grant County Community Foundation “Third Path” Cohort initiative which pairs non-profit leaders in our community together on a project that benefits our community, and part of the cohort experience involves all of us having a leadership coach. My coach is helping me by providing general leadership coaching questions, insights, and exercises during our monthly Zoom calls, as well as specific discussions about how I can grow as a leader in my first years serving as Board President of a local non-profit. The outcome is that I’m understanding myself better as a person and as a leader, which in turn is helping me lead our non-profit organization better; and the fringe benefit is that I’m also becoming a better husband, father, friend, and colleague. The thing I have really enjoyed is my coach’s ability to ask probing questions that invite me to reflect on my life and leadership, as well as her wisdom in offering practical insights and advice on how I might handle specific situations I’m dealing with in the non-profit organization I serve with. The experience has been one of the most formative leadership development seasons of my professional career. I recommend Intentional Coaching + Consulting to people who want to not just talk about growing as a leader or understand that value of leadership development, but who actually want to do the work of becoming the kind of person and the kind of leader their organization needs.

No one tells you how hard and lonely it can be as a new Executive Director of a non-profit. My experience as part of the 2023 Nonprofit Executive Coaching Program with Intentional Coaching + Consulting has not only given me tips and tools that I need to be an effective leader but going through the experience with my fellow non-profit leaders has given me a connection with an amazing group of leaders to reach out to when I need advice and support. I am so thankful to have this experience and it has given me the confidence in myself to be the leader I wish to be.
